- Welcome to AristIcons` First package.
-
- * What are they?
-
- AristIcons are a set of isometric 64 color icons
- using the NewIcon system, but with a custom palette.
-
- * Contents of this package
-
- This package only contains ImageDrawers (or canisters more like)
- and Hard Disk icons, along with Mailbox icons thrown in as a Bonus.
- (my-my, am I not generous?).
-
- The categories are color coded and are:
-
- - Red: System Software
- - Brown: Applications and Text
- - Light Brown: Disk and Storage Media
- - Blue: Audio stuff
- - Green: Visual stuff
- - Grey: Hardware and Emulators
- - Purple: Communications and Networking
- - Yellow: Games and Fun
- - White: Programming and Development
- - Orange: Miscellaneous Utilities
- - Metallic blue: Generic (def_drawer)
-
- - Hard disk Icons for different uses
-
- - Mailbox icons for empty, new and old images
-
- - Generic colored drawers and double drawers
-
- * The Plus Sign
-
- If you see a plus sign in front of a name it means
- that the directory has content (more drawers).
- The main drawers are excused.
-
- * Requirements
-
- - AmigaOS 2.x
- - NewIcon system V3+
-
- * Recommented
-
- - Gfx card or AGA with lots of free pens
- - Fast Hard Disk drive
- - Enough chip or fast
- - Turn off borders and make background color transparent.
-
- (note: those are just suggestions to get the best
- out of them. Thanks to the NewIcon system you
- are able to use them on less powerful machines too.)
-
- * Installation
-
- 1) Make sure you have the NewIcons system installed,
- even if you don`t use the icons. If you don`t have
- it, Aminet will be happy to provide you with a copy.
- 2) Use CopyNewIcon (which comes with the NewIcons package)
- by selecting first the source AristIcon and then with
- the shift pressed you double click on the choosen icon.
- Or if you want the same AristIcon across more than one
- icons, just select all of them with shift and double click
- on the last one.
-
- * Distribution
-
- Freeware. You can use the palette or the icons to make your own.
- But you have to mention the artist, ie me.
-
- * Future
-
- They were a bit rashed in the end since I`m leaving Pittsburgh
- to go back home to Greece for my summer vacations and next year
- I`ll be in Boston. So a lot of icons I wanted to design didn`t make
- into existance. I plan to make lots of imagedrawers more and then
- I may begin tackling file icons as well.
- Also the palette needs optimising and maye increase the colors.
- I also would be glad to hear from you, or see your own designs in the
- AristIcons style.
-
- * Artist
-
- Aristotelis Grammatikakis from Iraklio of Crete in Greece.
-
- You can contact me at arigr@lm.com, but ONLY FOR THREE WEEKS MORE!
- Then your email will bounce back since I`m closing the account.
- Furthemore, I`ll be probably in Greece when I get your message
- so I may not reply soon or at all since the beaches will be too
- hard to trade for a computer monitor.
-
- You may find me though in IRCnet #amiga under the nick of "Grypas".
-
- * Equipment used
-
- A black,golden and lava textured desktop Amiga A4000 with a 060@50,
- 46MBs of ram, 3.1GB HD space and a Picasso IV.
- Software used was just Personal Paint 6.4 with InjectBrush, NewIconToBrush
- and Image FX 1.5 for a couple jpeg conversions.
-
- * Credits and Greetings
-
- Dedicated to my parents as with everything I do.
-
- Some icons were stolen from other sources and slightly modified.
- Those include Aes original NewIcon sets, NextStep, Mac icon
- collections (Zip, Star Wars and Flaming Pearls) and the web.
- Respect to the artists who originnaly drew them and I hope you don`t mind.
-
- A big hello to all the #amiga people, especially those that gave me
- a bit of help!
-
- Also would like to say "Geia kai xara sas kopelia!" to all the Hellines
- that use the Amiga.
-
- Respect and love to all the people in the world who fight for the True Freedom.
-
- Ok...off I go. I wish us Amiga users better times!
-
- Cheers!
- Aristotelis
